The most important thing to consider when buying gifts for your nearest and dearest.

You wake up on Christmas morning, do you remember how that used to feel when you were a kid? What was also good about being a kid at Christmas, was that pretty much everything was a surprise. That so rarely happens now! But this year it did!

Shiny and not something I had thought about getting for even a second. Yet, here it was. Sitting under the tree, glittering with that childhood Christmas surprise.

It was touching and thoughtful, and so much better than asking me what I wanted.

So next time you have to get a gift for your nearest and dearest, just surprise them. It isn't the easy option, but it really is the best.
