The shock of the fall review

I actually read this book a while ago. Before I decided that I wanted to blog about books. Then I realised, as I was researching some titles for the Costa Book Awards 2014 that this won last year.

It was a book I'd seen everywhere before I actually picked it up and read it. It's sometimes the way I choose which book to read next- good marketing tip there.

Anyway, back to the book. This is about Matthew whose death of his brother Andrew leaves him guilt stricken  and anguished. The story passes between Matthew's poignant revelations and his childhood memories.

Harrowing, yet important. You can tell Filer knows his stuff.
